Nick Kyrgios is officially back on the practice court as he prepares for a headline-grabbing return to tennis. The Australian is in training for a unique “Battle of the Sexes” exhibition match against WTA world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, scheduled for December 28th in Dubai.

The 30-year-old recently posted a hitting session on social media, marking his first steps back after a five-month absence from competition. Kyrgios last played at the DC Open in July 2025, where he competed briefly in doubles.

Kyrgios’s return to the court follows years disrupted by injuries and surgeries. After a standout 2022 season—which included a run to the Wimbledon final—he played only one ATP match between 2023 and 2024. His 2025 comeback attempt saw limited success:
